Gundersen Viroqua Clinic

Saw Susanne Mlsna, NP for child's sick visit today. The MA and nurse were very kind and attentive. Susanne ordered tests for my child without having examined him, and seemed to have decided before seeing him what his diagnosis was. I asked for clarification on why one of the tests was useful/necessary given the situation. She was unable to explain why it was necessary, but continued to push for it regardless. I restated my concern, and instead of explaining further, she just said, "I can see why you might think that." She then made it clear that she wanted him to take the test but that she wasn't going to force the issue any further. I described his symptoms to her multiple times, but throughout the visit she continued to refer to symptoms he does not have. I corrected her each time, but even through the end of the visit she continued referring to and giving advice for managing the wrong symptoms. The redeeming factor was that she did give a referral to another doctor at the end of the visit. Additionally, Gunderson makes it near impossible to get an itemized bill. This should be provided by default, but instead asking for it gets you the run-around.

Staff have been friendly and helpful, but the communication network (say you need to talk with a nurse or a doctor) is an absolute headache. There is no effort to make any aspect of communication outside of scheduled appointments convenient for the patient.

Gundersen makes me cry almost every single time I interact with a scheduler. The nurses are the only redeeming factor about Gundersen. Unfortunately, thats not enough. I have been going to Gundersen since I was a child. I have been to the ER, the clinic, and the express care inside the ER. They continue to disappoint me with their communication skills, empathy, diagnosis, etc. As an added note, I have never had an on time appointment. Everything about Gundersen points to bad healthcare. I will no longer be receiving anything from them. Its unfortunate that we have little resources for healthcare in town. If you can avoid Gundersen, I encourage it.

I went in for care on a friday, they said noone could see me in urgent care for an hour unless I paid extra. My foot was in pain. They didnt even xray my foot. they passed it off as gout. I went to lacrosse clinic. they xrayed me and found out it was a fractured foot. So I had to pay extra for b.s nonservice and a b.s diagnosis diagnosis
