They were absolutely amazing! I was left in a bad position when a different painter did a horrible job on my home. I contacted M&D on a Friday and they came to meet me the next morning to provide a quote to fix the work. They started the job on Tuesday and completed it in time for us to move in that weekend! Top line: I am very pleased with M&D Painters' work and will ask them to quote any future projects I might have. The quality of their was everything I could ask for, and their price was fair. In summer 2021, I hired M&D Painters for a complete exterior painting project on 1800's era house, as well as a small interior drywall repair & repaint. They responded to the initial appointment reasonably promptly, though it took ~2 months to get on their work schedule. Both were fair given the state of home improvements in summer 2021. The quoting process was fairly straightforward with clear terms in their contract. The deposit and cost-of-materials structure was fair, though it wasn't as forthright as it could be that it was a firm cost-of-labor contract with a variable cost-of-materials. The advantage to such a structure is that I could've purchased my own paint, particularly useful if I had special pricing or wanted the credit card points. The disadvantage is that it was just a bit less-clear when comparing quotes. Speaking of materials, I was asked as they were purchasing paint whether I preferred flat or satin paint. I would've preferred this question being asked earlier in the process so I could feel informed about my decision and/or rely on their expertise. In the end, I took their recommendation (satin), which was clearly the correct choice. I just don't like surprises, so this was a minor annoyance. The workers were good and conscientious generally, though cleanup was B-level, not of A-level, work. This is to say cleanup was not a problem, but there was room for improvement. Background: while this is the first residential interior project I've hired for in ~15 years, I have hired painters for multiple interior painting projects at commercial (retail) properties and one exterior commercial painting project. I really liked the residential painter from 15 years ago, but they retired. My experience on the commercial projects has been mixed, rarely hitting the combination of good quality at a fair price. With the excellent quality at a fair price shown on this home exterior project, M&D Painters will be my first call - hopefully only call - for any future project.
