I worked with Greg to inspect/appraise a 1971 Plymouth Duster that was restored in WI. While Greg was indeed friendly and prompt with his assessment, he failed to uncover two pretty basic and key issues with the car: 1. Collision damage to the passenger side. See the pictures attached showing the view from underneath with the car on a lift, the view from looking down with the hood open not on a lift, and a comparison of the damaged vs. undamaged side. 2. Missing 1 balancer pulley bolt. See the picture attached. I brought this issue up to Greg after I had my well-known classic car mechanic conduct a thorough review of my car. To my surprise, he quickly revealed to me that this car was indeed in a front end collision at one point in its life. When I told him I sent a third-party inspector as the car was located over 900 miles away, he said "this was poor body work that any untrained novice let alone a professional inspector could identify." While the damage was not a deal-breaker given the rest of the car's condition, you would think that a professional inspector could have uncovered such discrepancy with ease, especially given how noticeable it is simply with the hood open. In other words, you neither need a lift nor an engineering degree to spot the damage. Additionally, uncovering this flaw prior to closing the deal would have furthered my negotiating efforts. Last, I simply paid for a service that was poorly executed. Despite discussing this firsthand with Greg, he failed to rectify this situation in any way. If you are looking for someone to inspect/appraise a car in the Milwaukee, WI area, I would recommend looking elsewhere for someone with more experience.
