if I could just get a chance to show off my modern architecture design work. someday, someone in Manitowoc will own an award winning home and the most raved about example of current modern design used in residential architecture. there simply is not enough modern architecture built in this part of the world. Pure design concept is the only way to go regarding building design. Unfortunately, designers just cannot resist plain traditional forms and easy consults instead of taking time to *teach* their clients about "pure concept design", and to walk the client through the process of capturing the owners needs, wants and desires for their new building. Furthermore, have todays architects forgotten that "LOCATION" is still king to all things pertaining to buildings! Is it not obvious that unless a new building addresses its community, and culture, it is simply not "speaking" any form of language at all with its preferable neighbors. This is essential for any new building to establish an association with its context to the street, place, neighboring building identities, and the community at large. Unless you are engaging in discussion like this with your architect, builder, contractor, or designer, you simply have not even begun to lay the ground for 'good' architecture. Please don't even bother if your going to build something average and traditional. We have seen enough of that and don't need another. it is time to launch out and be bold and brave with our choices and our taste in design. I challenge you to make a break ground a new way of thinking, and living your life. Live the way you want and stop cheating yourself out of a good life.
