U-Haul Moving & Storage of W Towne

My wife is a realtor and also owns a staging business. We have rented many trucks from this location over the years, because we are constantly moving furniture. Recently, every time we get a truck it has around 1/4 tank of gas in it. Not a big deal, because we do not usually drive out of the Madison area. We always fill it back up to a 1/4 tank. Today, the truck had 1/8 tank of gas and I was told if it isnt returned with a 1/4 tank of gas we would be charged $13.50! So, if I do not put more gas in it than it came with it, they charge me! I asked him why this is and he told me they dont have a gas station there. The system will automatically charge you, if it doesnt have at least 1/4 tank of gas. Something is fishy here !!!!!

I would HIGHLY recommend this location! Everyone was supeeer helpful the truck was clean and working fantastic! So glad that I have them close by and the rates CANT BE BEAT!

Worst possible experience trying to pick up a Truck without human contact. U-HAUL has no idea how to design a user friendly process, nothing is explained and no pre-work steps are provided to help you. Avoid.

I just had a terrible experience with my first rental truck at this location. I reserved few days prior, and then during my pickup I was informed by the staff that my truck has had a battery issue but he guaranteed it's working fine even though I kindly asked him for a replacement. What is this?! No communication at all about this before the pick-up date? U-Haul does not fully inspect and fix any issue of return trucks even though they are aware of it? Guess what happens after I drive it home and park, it died! I had to reach out to U-Haul roadside assistance and waited over an hour for AAA to arrive. The technician only jump-started my truck and didn't even have a tool to test the battery. Fortunately I have my own battery tester and showed him that the test result suggests to replace the battery, and fortunately I told his manager about the situation before the service is dispatched, otherwise the technican wouldn't have the faulty battery swapped out that easily. What a nightmare to go through all these on a cold winter night. Do you really care about your business?

I had a reservation in advance for about a week, and when I came in to check in for my U-Haul, the internet was down and I had to drive out of my way to another uhaul place so I could pick up a truck because I was only moving that day. I understand you guys couldnt pull up anything on the computer on your end, but I feel like there could have been some sort of solution. Also, I should have been informed in advanced that the internet was down before making my trip there. You could have maybe took my information and gave me the truck so I didnt have to inconveniently drive 20 minutes to another uhaul. And then I had to use that uhaul to store all of my stuff at the platte location and drive it back to its original place. Just overall unsatisfactory
