uBreakiFix - Phone and Computer Repair

My iPad 5 screen suddenly went completely dark a few days ago. Tried recharging it, and could hear the indicator sound that it was, but pressing the power button was no help, and I started thinking it finally died from a drop months earlier on that corner causing minor damage, but had still worked since. I took my device to two other independent repair shops and the Apple Store. The first shop said I needed a new LCD for $180. The Apple store "geniuses" said they would only replace the device, and if making a repair attempt, could not guarantee any data recovery. The second independent shop (& third place I went) said they could replace the LCD, but didn't have the tools to try and reform the case corner. That's when I was referred to uBreakiFix not far away on Madison's west side. Once I briefly explained the issue again, the guy I spoke with said, "give me a minute," and disappeared in back, then came back seconds later and said, "here you go--no charge," with the display lighting up with the power up Apple! All it needed was the hard power reset (hold power and home button down together) I had forgotten about! IMO, these guys at uBreakiFix are the real geniuses at repair protocol! Thank you! More recently, they fixed my screen damaged and unusable SG S21 phone with a replacement screen, and it has been working as expected since.
