Lake Geneva Lodge

We enjoyed our time in the cozy cottage with our two dogs. The owners were very responsive when we realized the wall heater wasn't working properly. They came to check and brought us an oil filled electric radiator, which was great. The fireplace also provided heat. We didn't need much more than that and didn't want to bother them because we were comfortable and there was not a big problem at all for us. But the level of care and concern was extraordinary. We enjoyed our stay and will return again and again. Noteworthy details: We received a generous care package upon our arrival.

My new Favorite Place! We stayed in a free-standing (there appears to also be shared-wall lodgings) cabin with the interior comforts you would hope for. A TV, small fridge, microwave, coffeepot and iron. A fireplace that isn't wood or gas burning but with rotating flame-look lights. The ambiance from the fireplace was really cozy. You don't have to use the heater part of the fireplace if you only want the look of flames. The cabin has hewn log walls/countertops in the bathroom. A shower/tub combo. There is a rolling barn door to close off the bathroom doorway. Our cabin had 3 windows with blinds that blocked most of the outside light when closed. A wooden front porch that has a roof and 2 chairs on it. For summer heat there is an inground pool that looks super inviting. A bonfire pad with brickwork and chairs. Landscaping that someone took a tremendous amount of time and care to construct. The owners are very welcoming and attentive to their customers and property. We did walk to the lake from here in about 10 minutes, each way. There is a short but steep downhill/uphill but now you know. We look so forward to staying here again in all seasons...and the sooner the better! Julie&Craig Safety: Good outdoor lighting. We had a steel door. Windows have locks. Walkability: Walkability to SOME restaurants and definitely walkable to the lake if you are used to walking. There is a steep hill when walking but steepness is fairly short, in reality. Food & drinks: Fast food...Culver's, McDonald's and Burger King. Excellent pizza/food at a place called Mama Cimino's. There is an actual diner nearby. Being a resort town there are also many other places to eat and visit.
