I hope you like attitude. I have never had so much grief from a supposed healthcare provider. The doctors are great, the reception staff is terrible. My suggestion; go elsewhere unless you want attitude.

Diagnosed me without having any tests done.
Missed work because of an LP and blood patch.
Radiologist said one thing and now is claiming he didn't say it, so the NP dropped me. Apparently they think I'm lieing about what was said. I am not happy about being accused.
Also will not excuse for work anymore. I will be going to a completely different provider as I do not trust anyone there now.

Did not listen to my symptoms and just gave me a ton of meds that didn't work and i had allergic reactions to some. Very poor care! Switched providers and went to Aurora. I would never see her again!

In all my appointments with dr. Gu I felt he listened to me, he was respectful, kind and always well prepared. When it has come to the medical treatment, I felt the way I was treated for my migraine headaches was humane, smart and very inclusive. As a patient I have to say dr. Gu is worthy of the highest praises a medical doctor should receive. Whether he is aware or not the treatment of my symptoms were doing multiple things due to relief of debilitating. For a start they were allowing me to play a role in the lives of people that needed me specifically someone sick with tuberculosis who needed my aid. It became quite riddling when side effects I had undergone for 4 years straight from a prescription drug started to be mimicked by the new prescription drug prescribed by dr. Gu. This is when the chronic pains became really out of hand upon being treated for my migraines, it was a puzzle and challenge I could not have anticipated. At this stage before realizing it had anything to do with the medication that was introduced from dr. Gu we began taking me off of medications to try to rule out side effects. We discovered a drug called "Depakote" was the source of major amounts of symptoms. However we never suspected the new migraine medication was mimicking those side effects and essentially the same nastiness was coming from that drug. However, unlike "Depakote" which took over 4 years to uncover the presence of and was the source of a long term chronic pain battle I had before I met dr. Gu which was very unfortunate... the new drug that was mimicking the side effects of depakote was very surprising because it felt very unlucky to have the culprit of my chronic pain to be something so new having identical side effects, it seemed almost too deceiving to be true. On the other hand with this newer migraine medication something very significant happened thanks to the wonderful help of dr Gu. It was one day I came in and I happened to be weighed, but alarmingly there was notice of a 50 pound weight drop within less than two months. It had appeared the weight I had was rapidly declining due to the medication which was a side effect. However we really quickly caught these side effects to this condition. This condition was very frightening, but after much observation during the experimentation of the medication decreasing we have learned to discover it really is causing severe side effects. Dr Gu had mentioned to me at that appointment that the medication can cause weight loss which is when we spoke about taking me off the medicine. I believe dr. Gu to be a very wise and thoughtful physician and I have known many others who have seen dr. Gu in my family. They all speak highly of dr. Gu. I will continue to see dr. Gu for as long as I am in the area. I hope this helps anyone considering to be seen by dr. Gu. I really think this is a physician that knows what they are doing and that is empathetic. They will listen to you at your appointments and work with you well. They have saved me from horrible side effects as they are knowledgeable about the medicines they handle. I trust this doctor and would recommend them to anyone seeking quality care for your health.
