CONNECT by American Family Insurance

Stay away!!! These guys cancelled my homeowners policy over a $5.28 shortage on a $800/year policy, then told me the policy can't be reinstated due to state law. I called to update my credit card for multiple policies, and the rep failed to update the home policy. Went out of town for a couple of weeks, and then came home to a letter saying my policy is cancelled? Could have afforded me the courtesy of actually calling or emailing but to me, it seems like an excuse to get me cancelled since i'm in CA.

never received email nor postal mail about payment being due. Today I received mail saying my insurance was cancelled. I called today and they said they will not renew my insurance due to it lapsing (it lapsed because I did not receive a billing statement by them). They also claim I owe them for days insured after my contract ended. I've never even made a single claim on their insurance despite having it for years. I don't know why Costco offers this insurance. I should have researched the negative reviews on this company before I first signed up with them.

The worst insurance agency I've ever seen. They solely care about their commissions. Never get back to you and if your policy gets cancelled they just send a letter instead of calling. Stay away! Especially the agent "Jennifer Mabbit"

I have a long story and this is not the place for it. I will say that the company, which was advertised as a Costco company, Connect by AmFam, is still very new and disorganized. They have several poorly-trained employees and their website does not work properly. They quickly accepted my payment for auto coverage and three weeks later began to email for extra information and stating my policy was pending cancellation. We have never even had an accident or needed to file a claim. Cant imagine what it would be like if we had the need. I decided to cancel and go with another company. Im still waiting on my refund.
