Kloes Custom Furniture

I placed an order of birdseye maple from Bob Kloes and I'm sorry to say it was of pretty poor quality.. all of the boards were horribly warped and twisted and by the time I got them flat and square, they were all undersized and unusable. I had to remove a LOT to get them flat.. but that's only partially the reason for the low review. On the thick 12/4" birdseye I was sent..it had very few eyes..like practically none..when I complained, Bob sent me another board that was worse than the first. I figured it was the best he could do in spite of my paying a premium price.. fast forward..Bob recently showed some highly figured maple on his Instagram which I was interested in and when I inquired about purchasing it, he refused to sell to me because of the birdseye purchase. When I asked what the problem was he said he had to ship me another board for free because I felt the first board was unacceptable and Bob refused to sell to me..I'm sorry, but I cannot see how being sent poor quality, premium priced wood that I cannot use, my issue and I asked if this is how he stands behind his products? I even suggested he takes a picture of the boards so I could see them to avoid any further issues. No reply.. Do yourself a favor and buy from Irion lumber and ask for Myron.. best place to buy and they stand behind their products.. I posted photo's for everyone to see.. does this look like prime birdseye maple 12/4" to you? useless!

Bob was very helpful. The figured wood he has is incredible and can't be found a where else. Bring cash.

Bob is amazing. The quality of lumber is amazing. He only sells the best lumber he can get his hands on. Bob is also a wealth of knowledge. Go see him, you wont regret it.

Bob is a delight to work with. He is so helpful because he understands woodworkers like me who are looking for specific boards. Fair prices. Highly recommended. I will definitely be back whenever I can.
