We had an online session with Emily for our recently adopted rescue, Tator Tot. We were having trouble with kennel training and anxiety. Emily was so helpful and really took the time to help us figure out where we were with his introduction into our family. After our call, we worked on the enrichment activities (sniff walks, sniff mats, games, etc.) she suggested and worked pretty hard to train him to love the kennel. We did so many fun things in there (chews, treats, snuggles, etc)! Now he goes there to nap when were busy and he's great in there when we leave the house. We really appreciated Emily's training session as that really got us started. If we need training in the future we'll definitely call her!

When we first hired Emily with Homeward Bound I was a little worried our pup would end up being a behavioral euthanasia. He had SO many issues and I didnt trust him at all. Months later and we are in a much better place! We are still a work in progress but Emily has given us the tools needed to get him where he needs to be. Hes significantly less reactive to things in the neighborhood, hes rocking the relaxation protocol, more relaxed about company coming over and best of all he wants to be pet and even cuddles sometimes! Yes, this pup was a HOT MESS at the start and now hes mostly a good boy! I highly recommend Homeward Bound with their knowledge, patience, kindness and ability to change tactics to fit the pup.

Emily and staff get 5 stars for caring and dependability for in-home care. Great getting daily texts on how things are going. Also, Emily helped us solve a broken a.c. unit long distance. We recommend HB for worry-free vacations.

We've worked with Emily on-and-off for the last year or so to help reduce our new kittens' "naughty" behaviors. Emily is absolutely wonderful - knowledgeable, supportive and enthusiastic in her love and understanding of animals. Between sessions she is readily available to answer questions. We recommend her services without reservation.

We came to Homeward Bound for help with our two corgis, who were fighting constantly. The fights were very bad, snarling, snapping and our younger dog finally got gauged with the other's tooth that required a trip to the vet. It was upsetting and stressful, not only to witness these fights between our two beloved dogs, but also trying to break it up while keeping ourselves and them safe. My husband and I both had gotten bitten breaking up these fights and we were at our wits end, worried we would have re-home one of them if the fights did not stop. So we reached out to Homeward Bound for help. From the very start, it was a positive experience. My husband and I had a two hour virtual consultation with Emily and Jolene and it was incredibly eye opening. They gave us real tools that we were able to start utilizing right away with our dogs; positive activities to start engaging their minds and allowing them to use their energy in a more productive/calm way (as I write this, they are enjoying dinner filled Toppl toys-one of Emily and Jolene's many fantastic suggestions! :D) They not only provided positive activity suggestions, they also explained the behavioral reasons behind the fighting so it gave us a more complete picture of what was going on and therefore, more insight on how to handle the issues going forward. Following the consultation, Emily promptly sent us a video recording of the session and a detailed assessment along with additional information on enrichment tools and training options. Our dogs haven't fought now for several weeks and the stress in our house has gone down significantly!!! While we didn't feel the need to continue with a full training program at this time, if this was the experience before training even began, I can only imagine how phenomenal their full program is! If you're experiencing a problem with your furry family member(s) that is causing stress, tension or even fear in your household, reach out to Homeward Bound. You'll be very glad you did. :)
