Attorney Eric Eickhoff from the Law Office of Hogan Eickhoff was brought in to be co-counsel to Attorney Anthony Cotton from Kuchler & Cotton S.C. Attorneys at Law. Attorney Cotton agreed to take over my sons case after he fired multiple attorneys and/or they were unwilling to work with him due to his severe mental illness and delusional thoughts. An illness that at the second phase of criminal NGI trial would be proven to be schizophrenia. A case that was clearly evident the defendant had committed the crime due to the overwhelming mountain of evidence presented against him. Attorney Eickhoff assisted in the review of that mountain of evidence along with documented medical and psychological information that was provided by my wife and I about our sons lifelong battle with mental illness. Together with Cotton they came to the conclusion that our son needed to be in a psychiatric hospital and not a prison. Attorney Eickhoff worked tirelessly to assist in building a case not only to defend the allegations and evidence presented against Attorney Cottons client but more importantly to prove to a jury beyond any doubt that their client was severely mentally ill. An illness that was present not only at the time of the crime (and left untreated for 4 years in county jail while waiting for trial) but also for several years leading up to the crime. Attorney Eric Eickhoff went above and beyond to ensure my son had a fair and impartial trial. More importantly he was instrumental in assisting in the presentation of all of the evidence needed to allow the jury to make a decision that ensured an individual with severe mental illness was sentenced to a medical facility where he would be guaranteed proper medical and psychiatric care for the duration of his incarceration. My family and I are forever grateful for Eric Eickhoff and his investment in a fair and just sentence for my son.
