We loved our stay at the Riverview Inn! The town, Alma, is close to the river, close to nature-oriented attractions, and it has its own hidden gems to discover. Hiking, fishing, golfing, wineries are all within a stone's throw. The Riverview Inn is the perfect spot to stay if you happen to be in the area.
First off, the view is breathtaking. I couldn't get enough of sitting on the porch whether I was sipping coffee in the morning or having a tasty beverage in the evening. The spotter's scope provides tons of entertainment value but mostly as a way to get closer to the wildlife. We saw eagles and foxes along the riverbank.
Secondly, the amenities inside the Inn are plentiful and comfortable. It has more than enough to keep people occupied inside but is just as convenient when all you need it for is a place to crash. The beds are quite nice and the sheets were super clean.
Lastly, the only negatives I encountered were a slight height issue in the lower part of the Inn (I'm 6'2" and the ceiling was pretty close) and a slightly challenging parking situation. Definitely not a dealbreaker in either case.
Overall, I'd highly recommend the Riverview Inn to anyone who's going to be staying in the area for a night, a weekend, or even a whole week.

The Riverview Inn is a place I'd always recommend to people looking to spend a weekend in the Alma area. The house sits back on the hill just off one of Alma's unique stairway streets in the center of town, making most main street businesses easily accessible on foot. The views from the living room windows are some of the best in the area as you have a full panorama of the dam, Mississippi River, and trains as they pass through Alma.
As of 2020 the Riverview Inn also came under new ownership. They communicate well and are very easy to work with. The house has everything you need for a nice weekend in the area be it using the premises as a home base for hunting/fishing/outdoor activities or just spending a cozy weekend in the watching tv or doing yoga by the fire while enjoying takeout from a local eatery. There are 3 bedrooms 1 upper, and 2 lower, and the house can sleep 4-6 comfortably. There is one bathroom so be aware. Full kitchen, dining area, porch to enjoy the views, and upper/lower entrances. It really is one of the coziest places we've stayed in and we can't wait to come back.
