Mountaineer Gas Company

This company is trash. We moved into a new place and tried to turn the gas on they want 5 different types of proof of who we are and when we moved in because the people before us didn't pay their bill. We called and called multiple times to no avail. We have small children and instead of working with us to find a solution they just said it's our problem and they won't do anything to help. We've tried to pay them sent in paperwork and yet still nothing. Mountaineer gas is the worst company I e ever had the misfortune of dealing with. If you have the option never go with them.

Since there is NO WAY to speak to a live representative with your company, I will post it here. My next step is a letter to the state attorney general. I understand that you want all your customers to have automatic bill payment. My problem is that I do not feel comfortable giving access to my checking account to a company that is basically unreachable. But this tactic of your company to delay processing checks and incorrectly processing checks is awful. If I mail a check to Mountaineer gas the same day as other payments, it takes a week and a half longer for the MountaineerGas check to be processed. I pay for more than one property at a time and have done this for years with no problem. Last month, you applied my whole check to one property and sent me a disconnect notice on the other. I feel you are trying to pressure your customers in to automatic payments with late fees that are due to your obvious tactics. Not an attractive option for a company that makes communication practically impossible.
