Got my water bill, payment due 12/20. I got paid the day after it was due, so that's when I paid it. I received a termination notice yesterday, 12/26 (the day after Christmas) dated 12/21. Literally one day after payment was due. I suggest, if the water department is that hard up for money that they don't have ANY grace period whatsoever, especially over the holidays, that maybe they adopt better business practices, or, I dunno, save some of the money they get paid?

City of Weirton utilities (water) needs to get out of the stone ages and are also, the worst utility company by far . I pay all my bills through my bank and have had zero issues with doing so with any company or even my private landlord except for them. They take over a week to enter payments because "they only have one person who enters the payments into the computers" (I was told this a few years ago). And they will send out termination notices before this individual even enters all the payments they have received. There was even an instance where my check couldn't be found so i had to cancel my check with my bank and pay the water over the phone,which i got charged extra for doing so, I made sure to tell them that if my check is found not to cash it (felt i shouldn't have had to tell them that but I did) however, they did find it and they did cash it and they charged me a $25 NSF fee. In the past few years they have changed our due dates and their rates multiple times to the point, you feel like you are paying your water bill every other week. Also, if you pay on their website, which doesn't work half the time, you get charged fees for using it. Don't even think about calling because you will end up with nothing but attitude. Not to mention, to even send termination letters during this time is just ignorant. I've lived in a lot of different places and have dealt with a lot of different utility companies and this place is by far the worst. I'd rather deal with comcast and that speaks volumes.
