Shawn addressed our September garden club meeting and was great! We learned a lot in a surprisingly short time and we are all now determined to be as good at recognizing trees as we are at knowing our flowers.

Shawn was recommended to me by a tree removal service to address some concerns I had about a struggling tree on my property (a dogwood). He diagnosis my tree's issue (named exactly the things that were contributing to its struggles, where another licensed arborist I'd paid for an evaluation a year prior merely said, "Its sick. Just cut it down." Ugh!). Shawn offered me a number of steps I could take to remedy the dogwood's issues (possible topical treatments, reducing resource competition, etc.). He did a soil pH analysis and offered some guidance on that front too. He then offered to walk around my property and provided some additional recommendations on tree and shrub trimming, infestation signs to look for, issues I might research to develop a response plan should they manifest, and pointing out possible vulnerabilities in a number of my specimens to for me to monitor in the coming months and years. We have worked with Trees 101, twice now and have been very pleased. Services are prompted and on time and prices are very reasonable. We certainly plan to continue working with them in the future! Our first experience was a general survey of our property, particularly of our numerous ash trees. During that survey, we were advised on which of our ash trees would make good injection treatment candidates, which of our other trees were ailing and could or could not be helped, and they even identified a hazard tree that we were not aware of. Our second time was actually giving three of our ash trees injection treatments to protect them against emerald ash borer. During both interactions, Mr. Walker was always very friendly, informative, and willing to answer questions. We always got great advice for best maintaining our little patch in the woods and learned a lot about our trees, from what past impacts (structural development, pests, etc.) have done to what present conditions and potential future ones can and may do.
