I had an appointment for a cut and dry for $28 (according to the app) and showed up early. I gave my name, and the stylist was able to take me right back. He cut my hair and blow dried it horribly. He used his hand instead of a brush and treated me like I was a dog at the groomer, rubbing the top of my head aggressively. When I checked out, I was charged $68 for my cut and dry. When I questioned it, I was told the cut is $28, but the blow dry was extra (apparently $40 extra). About 10 min later, I received an email stating I was a no call, no-show. I called the number and was informed I went to the wrong location. Why didn't the man tell me, I didn't have an appointment at that location? Instead he acted like I was in his system.

I am very picky and peculiar about my hair, after moving to the area I lost my year long relationship with my previous barber, and I dreaded having to find another one. I tried a barbershop in Martinsburg and had a bad experience. I needed a cut and decided to try Hair Cuttery on a whim, with 0 expectations because chains like that are bad right? That's when I found Syris, he's a good barber and I really like him. He listens and does a good job to follow up with me as a I go through my hair journey with him. I highly recommend picking Syris as your barber. I have been sending all my friends and neighbors to him. If he leaves without telling me, I will be devastated.

Marissa , you are the bomb! Very nerve wracking to get my hair cut by someone new, due to moving. 10/10 experience & 10/10 expectations. So friendly & skilled! So happy to have found you!

If the stylist cries after your 5 hour appointment, something definitely didnt go right especially if you request brunette and somehow end up blonde/red. Truly wish I didnt have to leave a bad review, but have to. I went in for a cut/color yesterday at 4pm and left at 9pm, 1 hour after closing. I requested my hair to be dyed brown to my natural hair color with a few darker blonde highlights for some contrast. Idk what happened, but the stylist ended up bleaching the majority of my hair all the way up to the roots?! After the first toner didnt work, they tried again. My back was to the mirror the entire time, so I couldnt see what was happening until it was too late. It came out platinum blonde.. like BLONDE BLONDE. At this point another stylist jumped in to help. They put a darker toner in didnt work. And another dark brown toner didnt work. They blamed it on my well water at home. I tested the water once I got home and no trace minerals we have a water softener so it isnt hard at all. At this point, the original stylist starts crying. I felt bad for her truly. I comforted her and couldnt have been more gracious. All the while, the store manager kept calling so they could close the store and shut down the register, so they made me get up mid-correction to pay a WHOPPING $300!!! I couldnt believe my eyes, but I was so uncomfortable, I just wanted to fix it and leave. After another hour and no luck, we scheduled a correction appointment but when I woke up this morning, my hair turned orange overnight. I called to request a refund because I just didnt feel comfortable going in again to attempt to fix it again. The stylist who answered the phone was the stylist present last night who came to help out when things went wrong. When I requested a refund, she said Id have to come in for the correction appointment and if I was still unhappy, then they could offer me a partial Im just unwilling to spend a collective 8-9 hours of my life and still end up with a messed up head of hair and only get half of the $300 I spent back. She blamed it on the well water an issue/excuse that I debunked. Then she blamed me for the color I chose. She said not our problem. All I wanted was brown hair. And somehow ended up bleach blonde. And now orange. I went here because I dont have much money and really trusted everything would be fine!! But it was just as expensive as a regular salon, and now my head burns from 4-5 toners and bleach. Ugh. I trusted my original stylist and genuinely had a nice time chatting with her. I know how upset she was, so I never intended on bringing her down in a review Im just really disappointed in how the aftermath was handled / that this was made out to be my fault, and no ownership was taken on the stylists part which is why Im leaving this review.
