Giving five stars because your driver Jerry Marion was amazing. I have a tough driveway and he handled it like a pro he even missed my flowers which after he left ups driver hit them . Great guy and hope to have him as my driver next time.

Watch Out Folks...I had a 150lbs package delivered to me from TN, and unfortunately the shipper selected RL Carriers. I don't think I have ever encountered such an arrogant outfit in my 45 year business career. The shipper did specifically email me and verbally told me to write "Box Damaged" on the freight bill if the box was damaged in order for the content to be covered. But the RL driver had a fit and ripped the freight bill out my hands while I was writing and started to call multiple supervisors. I was told it was against company policy to acknowledge damaged of boxes on the freight bill and insisted I write " subject to inspection" ... unacceptable and totally contrary to shippers instructions. The situation was only resolved after my suggestion to open the box and check the goods for any damage. I have more shipments coming from the same place...but I will pay a little bit more for FedEx shipping just to avoid having to deal with RL Carriers again.

Delivery was scheduled and confirmed but never showed up on the scheduled date. I sent an email to the contact us form on the website before I was able to locate the Fife direct line. The person I spoke to at the Fife warehouse was quite helpful and scheduled the delivery for the next day. The next morning the contact form response came through and informed me that my delivery was scheduled for a different day. (Now the third date I have been given.) I responded to that email and asked for clarification on when it is actually coming. I never received a response. Meanwhile my delivery was actually in route and I received a phone call from the driver, Jose that he was close. We agreed on a time that I would be able to meet him. ( I was working from home and had to work around meeting and signing for the delivery.) Three minutes from the time that we spoke about he started blowing up my phone and called me 5 times in a row, despite me texting to let him know that I wouldn't be able to talk for a few minutes. He responded saying that he had to go because he had other deliveries to make. I was able to connect with him over the phone at the time that I told him I would be available and it was then that he told me I would need to come meet him at the Ace Hardware store because he was not coming to my house because I did not have a turnaround for his 50 foot trailer. (What residence does??) He said I needed to bring my truck and just back right up to his trailer. I told him I was not able to leave, and that I needed it delivered to my house. I made it clear that parking on the road and dropping it there would be fine, but it needs to come to my house. He said he would have to come back later after he did his other deliveries. I said that would be fine, but it would be the same situation: I will need a heads up and it needs to come to my house. He estimated that he would be back around 6pm. I spoke with him at 6 and he said he was about 35 minutes out. At 6:50 I asked for an ETA. He called and said he is another 32 minutes away and then asked if I could meet him at the freeway. I said no and finally around 7:40 my delivery was complete, poorly strapped and wrapped boxes, with no pallet, but it arrived at least. The lack of planning of a freight company making frequent residential deliveries with a big rig and not more thoroughly planning out the route to accommodate things like turnarounds and low clearances has significant negative customer experience and overall efficiency impacts. Not to mention the flaw of scheduling in the first place, and then not even being able to get a clear answer of when it is actually coming from the customer service rep responding to emails. The driver lamenting to me about turnarounds and asking me several times to come meet him some other place than the place that I paid for the item to be shipped was infuriating. 1 star for R+L as a whole. 2 stars for the folks actually working in the warehouse who were kind and helpful. I hope to never have to rely on R+L as a company again.
