The only reason Im giving somewhat of a positive review is because Dr. Katzenbach was an amazing doctor and he helped me through a lot. If I needed a therapists and still lived the area, I would go back in a heartbeat. However, the billing is my big issue. I received a notification shortly after I stopped going that I had a remaining balance to be payed, which didnt make much sense because I had pretty good insurance that required only a small copay. So I called billing and they said they would send an appeal to my insurance company for the coverage and would contact me if further information/action is required. Never received a call, so obviously Id think its taken care of, right? Nope! Almost a year later I receive a notice from collections that I owe $600 from Lifestance for my office visits, which is much more than the previous amount. No notices, emails, calls, letters, nothing. I made sure all my mail was forwarded and I didnt receive anything from them. Now my credit report is negatively impacted by the offices negligence and inability to properly input my insurance or even notify me if I still needed to pay. I honestly wouldve payed the amount if insurance wasnt cooperating, just to avoid collections, but I never received that opportunity. 0/5 on the office.

Excellent care and attention to details with everyone, including the office staff, the psychiatrist, and the psychologist. Getting an appointment for testing was sooner than I expected although it required 3 visits rather than 2. However, I then felt confident the diagnosis was definitive. Follow up appointments were timely and didn't have to spend an inordinate amount of time in the waiting room (like I do for primary care.) Definitely recommend for others. Be careful pulling out of parking lot - there is a curve just before that one cannot see around!

One star for the doctor and one star for the practice. I went in for an ADHD screening which I was told was covered as a routine mental health appointment, I paid my copay, had my visit (which I had to wait 2 months for ), had to wait another 2 weeks for the follow up and then received a bill for $400 out of pocket expense. I thought there must be some mistake so I called and no, they told me that the Dr. had billed it as "testing" and therefore it is no longer considered a routine appointment. There were 4 charges despite my only 2 visits. I asked why I was not told this up front, and was told that they didn't know how it would be billed or what my insurance would cover, even though: 1. I sent them an email to schedule the appointment specifically stating I wanted to be tested for ADHD, 2. spoke to someone over the phone about it confirming my request, 3. provided them with my insurance info well over a month before the appointment, and 4. confirmed all I owed was a copay at the initial appointment. There were 4 opportunities for them to check how this would be billed and alert me and it never happened. The only good thing I can say about this practice is that the woman in the billing department was very sweet and worked with me to get the cost somewhat lowered, but it's still more than I would have been willing to pay (if I had known there would be an out of pocket component), and WAY more than I expected. While I understand that I, as the patient, am responsible for understanding my insurance coverage, I am very confused how it it my responsibility to figure out the cost of a service when the staff there aren't even aware how things will be coded and billed. As for Dr. Katzenbach - this was my first experience with a therapist and quite frankly, not impressed. He focused in on my issues sleeping more than my concern about ADHD. Ultimately, he told me I did not have ADHD because I did too well in school and essentially wasn't disruptive enough, which, according to lots of research and personal testimonials, is why many women go undiagnosed, so I still remained unconvinced. Furthermore, he told me that in order to sleep better, I just need to practice better sleep hygiene and try depriving myself of sleep in order to sleep better. Wow, mind blown! What an amazing revolutionary idea that I hadn't thought of or tried in the 20 years of sleep issues I have experienced! Needless to say - I HAVE tried both these things and neither works for me. Had this not cost $400, I would have just shrugged it off, but it DID cost $400 to walk away with no explanation or diagnosis and medical advice I've been receiving since middle school. So ultimately, a big disappointment in the service and an even bigger disappointment in their inability to properly inform their patients of their financial obligations.
