My elderly, disabled grandfather has been dealing with two decaying teeth for over a year now. Dr. Brandon and his staff have given us the run-around from the get-go. Allowing us to schedule the much-needed extractions only to inform us upon arrival that they'll be doing any other work they can think of instead - fillings, cleanings, deep cleaning etc. Until finally telling us after MONTHS of this charade that he'll need a referral to an oral surgeon due to the complexity of the work required. So he's either completely incompetent in his field or has absolutely no regard for his patient's well-being as he should have been able to know from the very first x-rays taken that he was not equipped to complete the necessary procedure. Meanwhile my grandfather has been in constant pain and unable to eat for months now and I can see it is contributing to a decline in his over-all health. I saw in another review that a similar occurrence happened for another patient, so it appears this is common practice for them. Avoid this office at ALL costs. I'm appalled and disgusted by the lack of care or concern given by Dr Brandon to his patients.

Dr.Porter and Dorris the assistant helped me understand the severity of my dental situation and setup follow up appointments that day. Very informative and hospitable. I felt like I was with family

I have a lot of dental anxiety, little money, and no dental insurance. All of these things combined mean I have a long list of dental work I need to get done. On the recommendation of multiple other people from the Tacoma area, I finally got the nerve to schedule a visit here. My first visit was brief, but my second visit today was the first of many more I will be having to get fillings, extractions, and potentially root canals done. From reception to the dental assistants to the dentist (Dr. Porter, in my case), this was the best dental visit I have had in years. I have used a community dental clinic previously, in my home state, and always felt like the dentists were overworked, overtired, had little patience for me. It always resulted in me dreading going in, postponing visits, and just living with pain instead of seeking help. I have not felt that way at all at CHC. The dental assistants have been kind and gentle, the receptionists have been warm and welcoming, and Dr. Porter is probably the best dentist I can remember having in my 30 years. Im still anxious about moving forward with all the work I need, but Im more hopeful than Ive ever been that I can keep the momentum up and finally maybe find comfort at the end of this journey.
