Steele Manor is such a lovely community to live at! A hidden gem tucked off the main 6th Ave area! I was there for 2 years and thoroughly enjoyed my neighbors and management! Would highly recommend this adorable community!

This place is inexpensive for a reason. My niece lived there for several years. It was an OK area at the time and close to me. She is on disabily and cant do any kind of repairs. Never in 7+ years that she lived there did they replace the 17 year old carpet that was stained when he moved in. The carpet had been shampooed apparently but after 1 month of the very little walking (due to disability) all these spot started to appear on this 1980s carpet. I asked several times and each time property managers changed if she could get that replaced. They did this for all other Units and painted outdoors and landscaped for curb appeal but they never updated her appliances, flooring or counters like they did in the other apts. They were old and worn when she moved in. We were told they were updating all the Units. They did most except hers. She had to experience little rodents and ant infestation. This took several calls to Mngrs and Corporate Office to get this addressed. We bought traps and bait while we waited for their help. Management has changed a few times since then. There were several cabinet doors that needed minor repairs (which I did). Knobs needed bet attachments as the kept coming off. The dishwasher rarely worked and was decades old. The sliding screen door fell off the rails each time she tried to use it. We finally left it off and I dont think it was fixed until she moved. The on-site manager lives in the units, they take pretty much just collect rent. Their hands are tied waiting for Corporate of Steele Manor to address major repairs. My niece was never a problem and in that area there are many sketchy things that go on. When she moved out she got a bill for $56.00 to cover the balance of the repair work that needed to be done. I found this to be a joke given I never charged them for all the repairs I did to make the place decent over the years. She has had MD since birth and I feel like they take advantage of people there on on Sect.8. Its difficult to find a decent place that accepts Sect.8; or we would have been a squeekier wheel. To be taken to Collections for $56 - after living there in disrepair for 7 years is a joke. Yes, I have a case of sour grapes but I thought you should be warned if you accept an apt there that may need repair. Make note of every minor ding, knob, stain, chip, crack in blinds or screens and take pictures because thats just a smart thing to do. I admit, I wasnt that smart.

If you are a Tow truck or commercial vehicle of any type I recommend you stay away from this place. They lie and use every tool they have access to to degrade people who have jobs driving. VetUSMC 0431 embark spec.
