This location was perfect for where I needed to be. It was quiet, and for someone traveling alone I felt very safe with the 24/7 security and the bright lights all over the location. Would definitely stay here again. Staff was also very friendly and attentive! Rooms: Newly refurbished, clean Nearby activities: Kraken Community Iceplex within a few miles Safety: This area is unfortunately known for illegal activity, but I only got a sense for it miles away from this motel closer to the city Food & drinks: Within 4 miles about 10 minutes of great local food spots, specifically breakfast

The location is good, as it is right on the E-line to downtown and close to the Northgate Link station. This actually makes Bast Motel extra-wonderful for people visiting Seattle carless, like me. The rooms are spotlessly clean and thoughtfully designed to make you feel at home. The comforters are super fluffy and everything feels fresh and clean. I think the fresh and clean feel of this place has a lot to do with the design of the rooms and the hard-working housekeeping staff. The devoted owner always assists in cleaning- that is a GREEN flag!) This hotel has tight security, and that is because of the neighborhood. Every hotel on this strip should have this high level of security, to be honest. But, most hotels on Aurora don't. And, while Aurora Ave. is awful dangerous, no fault is owed to this oasis. Furthermore, the Aurora Strip is not indicative of the surrounding area. The area has plenty of walking and biking paths around it, for someone visiting Seattle carless. In fact, this beautiful hotel sits in front of the historic Washella Cemetery, where Seattle founder families and movie legends are buried. Rooms: The rooms are plush and seemingly well insulated as we did not hear any of our neighbors, even on busy nights. When the windows are closed, it is quiet, despite being on this urban highway. Safety: Dangerous activity involving people-trafficking has been happening on Aurora Ave. N, but this hotel is highly monitored by contracted security and Seattle Police are active in the area at all times, so we were never afraid. Walkability: Easy access to transit systems.

I live 45 mins S. of Seattle and since I had to be around the Northgate area for a court case for over a week, I searched for all the hotels and Motels that were in the 15 miles around. This one was just a few miles from Northgate exit on I-5 North of Seattle. I called to make the reservation and very nicely the manager responded that instead of having to pay $75.00 per day, a week was going to be $450.00 flat and I ended up paying the rest without having to pay the taxes. I was able to spend up to $90 per day, but liked that my car was right up front from my room and it had a nice kitchenette with more than a small fridge + microwave where you barely can put something inside. The rooms are as described, cleaned with 2 hangers, 3 pillows, enough toilet paper , small packs of cheap shampoo and soap , and cheap hotel towels. I came prepared with my own towels, toiletry, sented plugging, dish soap + dish towel, food, silverware , glasses, cups, bowls, knives, cutting boards, can opener, hangers, extention cord, etc. If something was wrong with my room, they kindly apologized, and immediately brought it to my room. I decided when and what had to be done to my room, that it was washing the floors, putting more mats, changing the sheets every day, leaving the heat on, what ever I asked, they all kindly comply with politesse. My car was secured 24 hours a day by a security guard and nothing was stolen from my room except the cleaning ladies throw away my cap from my hair bottle and the other clear plastic where my toothbrush was in. It was probably my fault because I laid them around, and since some are from other countries, they might have thought it was trash. I'm pretty sure, if I would have talked to the manager about it, he would have immediately told the personnel because he's a really kind person and very open minded . If I had to be in that area for a few days, I would go back. I loved that it has a mid-sized fridge + microwave with huge sink what you usually don't have with regular Hotels or Motels and when you stay for a few days... it's nice! I hope this can help you make a better choice on which Hotel or Motel you want to stay when you are in the Seattle area...
