Gynecology at Virginia Mason

Always put on hold for at least 25 minutes before talking to just a receptionist who can give me no information whatsoever. Been trying to request a pre-authorization since October, it's still not done and NO ONE ever called me back.

I had unexpected and unexplained pain in my groin. I had seen the head of the department for this pain. I have adenomyosis and a nexplanon to help prevent pain from my condition. I was told it was unlikely I actually have the condition I do, and that I didn't chose the option he would've. He then sent me for an ultrasound which was done. However it was reviewed by an out of network provider so I have to pay $400 because an out of network provider viewed my ultrasound which was 100% out of my control. They then didn't even bill my insurance. I had to call and make them bill my insurance. Otherwise my 1 office visit would've been $400 aswell. Always review the bill from this place. If I hadn't looked, I would've owed thousands. I only have billing knowledge because of my profession; so i have to wonder how many people they've gotten thousands out of.

Horrible scheduling. I had an appointment scheduled and on the day of I noticed it was no longer in the portal. On calling it turns out they cancelled it without telling me. They scheduled another appointment for the same day and as I arrived at the office they called to say they can't see me and I need to see a different kind of doctor. Do these people think they are the only ones whose time is valuable? I took time off work for this!

Virginia Mason staff is absolutely incredible. From front desk at Gynecology, to surgical and inpatient staff. I felt safe, understood and cared for. They are my go to hospital and have incredibly educated specialists that are human with wonderful bedside manner.

Absolutely impossible to schedule an appointment, even with the best insurance in the world. Its been half a year and I am back to the beginning. What does my insurance pay top dollars for? Service is horrible. I was returning Melissas call, the lady on the phone was short and rude to me! Really Virginia Mason, fix your front desk staff members attitude and make it possible for people to schedule an appointment!
