Swedish Magnolia Primary Care

The oxymoron of Swedish health care: Your money or your life. After I had recovered from being out of work due to a virus I went in for a quick visit to get a note for HR. Spoke with a clinician, got the note. Ten minutes tops. Done . Never saw a doctor or received any form of treatment. Was billed $220. Sure it was a mistake, I sent in a payment along with a request that they adjust the bill to reflect the actual situation. It was ignored and I got a demand for immediate payment in full. I sent in another payment, which was all I could afford ( saving to pay my taxes). Couldn't give them a credit card because my account had been hacked so I closed the account and am still waiting for a new card to arrive. Swedish sent me a letter with a demand for full payment within a time frame that doesn't synch with my paydays. (Note: it takes one and a half paychecks just to pay rent.) Now they are aggressively threatening to destroy my credit by turning it over to collections, completely ignoring the fact that I have been paying the bill. Swedish has profited by hundreds of thousands of dollars for my healthcare, but this relatively small amount of debt pushed them over the edge. And me too. I have been with Swedish more than half my life. Never again! The Seattle metro area, which Swedish monopolizes, is listed among the 180 American cities without accessible health care. Not because it doesn't exist, but because no one can afford it. This is simply one example.

First visit was my last visit. Drs assistant was rude and when I asked for a meet and greet with my new primary I was told We dont do that. I didnt realize that assistants made decisions for MDs or for Swedish Healthcare in general. I was then informed that Dr. Hodges was moving to another state and I would have to find a new GP. Would have been nice if Id been told that before I spent time scheduling and arriving for my appointment! Total waste of of my time. Run, run away from this clinic!

Wouldnt recommend this place to my worst enemy. Zero grace given here. 5 minutes late and they wont see you. An hour and half in the car for nothing. And when I have waited for 30-45 minutes in the waiting room in the past to even be called back. More than once. Terrible customer service.

I think it's important to see your doctor as informed and compassionate as well as healthy, energetic to someLevel, and reasonably fit (at least when they lecture you about those points in often a confrontational way). There is a provider here who doesn't fit that and last meeting was exhaustive for me Because of their exhaustion. Not really what I want in a doctor. Alternately there is a fitness expert type ultra fit doctor here who knows as much as most cardiologists about heart health and that we found useful.
