Crosscut Hardwoods

A wide variety of wood, and better prices than the big box stores. They sell most hardwoods by the board foot and label each board. Many species you likely haven't heard of before. You can browse to find the piece that works for your project. I haven't used them, but there are a couple bins of cutoff pieces sold by the pound.

I was so disappointed in Crosscuts customer service!! The owner/manager that I talked to on the phone didnt want to help me at all, said I just needed to come in and look. When I got there he came out of his office and again didnt want to take the time to help me. I was looking for three boards of Oak which I didnt understand what he was saying about the unfinished side, the extra length, the pricing, what would work for trim boards and what would not. He made it very clear that he had no patience for my lack of knowledge. I finally was referred to Limback Lumber by a friend and WOW they were so nice and sold me exactly what I needed. I was in and out in 10 minutes Matt was a huge help and my trim matched my doors and looks great. Dont waste your time at Crosscut unless youre a contractor and knows exactly what you need.

I LOVE this place but really wish they were open on weekends. Even 9-12 on Saturday. I would go so much more often if I didn't need to miss work in order to shop here - I can't help but think I'm not the only woodworking hobbyist that works a weekday 9-5 schedule in Seattle....
