        I had a great experience with Dr. Derrick and her team at Boxbar Vascular. I found Dr. Derrick through a Facebook group for my chronic health condition (lipedema), where she was highly recommended by others. She found that I had chronic venous insufficiency in both legs and was able to do a very simple, non-invasive and ultimately painless procedure on each leg, covered by my health insurance. My legs immediately felt lighter and some chronic swelling in my ankle, which I've had for years, visibly and immediately reduced (which I had not anticipated). Recovery from the procedures could not have been easier. Dr. Derrick's team was also unfailingly friendly and competent. I had a very positive experience at Boxbar. Highly recommended for anyone with lipedema, heaviness or pain or soreness in legs, varicose veins, etc.

From the very first appointment I knew I was in good hands, as there was genuine care and sincerity in those initial conversations, and all the ones thereafter. Needless to say, Im very pleased with the services theyve provided!

        Helpful and friendly staff. Surgery & recovery was quick and pretty much painless. After my first post-surgery workout, my leg "bad leg" felt lighter and more energized. It now feels better than my "good leg". The hamstring tightness that caused lower back pain went away. The light-headedness on standing also went away.

      Dr. Ellen has been practicing vascular medicine in Seattle for close to a decade. She accepts patients directly or through a referral from your primary care physician. If you or your doctor is concerned about your risk for a potential blood clot, she has the ability to evaluate, consult and treat using diagnostic ultrasound. If you have concerns about peripheral arterial disease, Dr. Ellen has the ability to diagnose and offer a treatment plan with same day ultrasound and consultation. Using Cardiac Risk Stratification, Dr. Ellen can also evaluate your risk of heart disease or potential for stroke. She offers in-office procedures for varicose vein and spider vein treatment. From Restless Leg Syndrome (RLS), which is often the result of undiagnosed venous disease, to painful pelvic varicose veins; Dr. Ellens first concern is always that of her patients welfare and comfort.
