If you must use Safelite, don't use their glass. Find OEM or 3rd-party glass. Use a credit card for chargeback protection.
From my experiences, other reviews, & internet posts: there's likely a serious internal quality control problem with Safelite's glass. It's possible they're producing windshields with defects & passing this cost to consumers.
They'll deny attempts at claiming warranty citing "impact damage"; refusing to admit any fault even if the crack happens right after installation. Given the coincidental timing & experiences of other customers at this store, you'd think they would entertain the possibility that their glass is at fault. They will not. They'll insist you open another insurance claim & file for an entirely new windshield.

Keep your own records when talking to Safelite. They're dishonest & admitted to being internally disorganized.

* Brian (Tukwila Manager) - denied warranty appeal in 30 minutes despite not having car or pictures of crack. Generally unpleasant
* Aaron (Manager of Tukwila) - said he'd have quality control specialist call me, never happened
* Zach (District Manager) - representative said he'd contact me but he never did

Windshield repair appointment with Technician Aleipata,
breaks rearview mirror but sets up replacement appointment
02/23/24
No-call no-show for rearview mirror installation appointment. We reschedule.
03/03/24
Crack in new windshield ten days after installation. No known cause or incident to explain crack.
03/04/24
Replaced rearview mirror, Safelite inspection of windshield by Technician Dexter. Claims crack is caused by impact & entire windshield must be replaced at full cost to consumer.
03/05/24
Called Safelite @REDACTED. Talked to Angelina in Customer Service. She put me on hold to talk to the local Safelite shop and/or technician.
She couldn't reach the local shop but scheduled me an appointment & applied a $60 discount on the ~$370 total. I was unhappy with this & she agreed: "I don't see why they wouldn't (honor their warranty.)" However she couldn't honor it herself & said the Tukwila shop must agree to it.
Angelina referred me to Brian or Aaron at Tukwila & provided their "direct line" of REDACTED. I called twice without answer.

Called the "direct line" ten times between 9am to 5:10pm. No answer.
03/07/24
Called "direct line" at 9:30am. Mick the Customer Advocate answered. We discussed the situation and he transferred me to a manager.
On hold for 52 minutes before Brian was available.
Said he'd chat with a quality control guy & call me back. 30 minutes later, he says it "looks like an impact crack."
Note that Safelite never took pictures of the new crack. This early denial without evidence is a hint at Safelite's internal policy regarding these warranties.
I called Safelite customer support; Robert sent me to Customer Cares at REDACTED.
Amber at Customer Cares listens & escalates to Zach (District Manager) but couldn't give me a phone #. Said Zach'd call me in the next 48 hours.

3 days later, no calls from Zach
03/11/24
Visited Safelite Tukwila early for my 11am appointment. Talked to Manager Aaron. Turns out my appt was cancelled without notification.
Aaron listens, has someone inspect, & confirms crack is "due to impact." Says a QA Specialist will call me & so I leave.
