I have enjoyed my Tom James gear for years now. it is so convenient and fun to have my concierge show up to my office and get me dialed in. Always fresh nd fun fabrics to choose from and never a hard sell. I know they will keep me suited up for years to come.

I went to Tom James Co. with high hopes and was, to be completely honest, very disappointed by the time I ended the relationship. In brief summary with credit where credit is due: I had a 3-piece suit made and was very happy with the initial consult. Very friendly staff that seemed knowledgable enough. I picked my fabric and was told that it was in stock and, even though not a normal fabric for a suit it would be doable. A bit later I received a phone call and was told that the fabric was actually not in stock and if I still wanted to use it it would delay my suit quite a long time. OK, not the end of the world, we discussed other options and I picked a different fabric. At this point the process was already behind by a few weeks. I had extras added to the suit, surgeons cuffs among other things, and was told the process needed to get them correctly done. Basically the button holes for the cuffs wouldn't (and shouldn't) be added until the length of the sleeve is correct because it is much harder to alter sleeve length with working button holes. The time came for the fitting and the button holes had already been added. Luckily they were close enough to the right length that issue was avoided with minor alterations but this was another red flag regarding quality assurance.
I'll skip over the issues I had with the custom made shirts to save space and time... but will note that the mailed one of the shirts to me after alterations and mailed it to a completely wrong address and I never received it.. On to the top coat I ordered next.
I ordered a top coat in a wonderful fabric and when the coat finally arrived I was sent a photo.. It was a completely different fabric. I told my clothier that it wasn't the fabric we had settled on and was told, "It is, trust me". I asked for a close up photo of the fabric and compared it to the photos of the fabric I had chosen, they were completely different. I was again told the fabric is correct and I need to see it in person. When I came to pick up the coat I was then told that I was indeed correct, it was the wrong fabric, and there had been a mix up. My clothier was told that the fabric we picked out was not available so, WITHOUT CONTACTING ME, they simply picked another fabric and had the coat made... I told them I would not be accepting the coat as it was in no way even close to the fabric I had picked. It would have been a very easy fix to call, explain that the fabric we chose couldn't be used, set up an appointment to pick a new fabric, and have the coat finished. This wasn't done and I couldn't believe it. At this point I decided that the Tom James Co. was not the tailoring company for me.
