        They don't validate parking so expect to pay 6-10 dollars at min. Absolutely ridiculous, I have never had to pay to park to see a doctor before.

        Been going here for about a year now. 22 years as a T1D with Hashimotos thyroid disease. It was really difficult getting into to UWMC, there were issues with the faxing request that never got resolved, I had to bring it in person to schedule my first appointment. But, now that I am in with the UWMC Diabetes Institute group, it's been really easy and I feel very supported. I have a great support system here and the providers are very knowledgable. They are helpful to get referrals and resources for any other health matters tied to long-term diabetes care (ex. labs, sleep apnea referral, research studies, etc.). Their online portal is extremely helpful for booking appointments, requesting refills or sending/receiving messages. I never have issues with parking, you do have to pay a fee. I recommend you leave extra time (about an hour) to arrive, park and get your A1C labs since SLU area is very congested. Otherwise, I look forward to receiving care here.

      The Diabetes Institute is the first of its kind in the Pacific Northwest, integrate advanced care for patients with all types of diabetes, including Type 1, Type 2 and more unusual forms of diabetes that may develop in conjunction with other medical conditions and/or treatments. We also provide specialty care for patients with diabetes, including cardiology, weight loss, nephrology and podiatry.Located in a new, state-of-the-art building on UW Medicines South Lake Union campus, the Diabetes Institute brings together research and clinical care.
