    I had an awful stay here on 8/25 - 8/26, I was assigned a room (226) that was infested with bed bugs. I woke up on 8/26 full of bed bug bites. Face and both arms. It was a business trip, so I left the hotel early to go to my work site, during my work schedule I was not able to work as the burning and itchiness was unbearable. I went to Walgreens to get ointment and benadryl to help it, and the tech on duty confirmed that it was bed bug bites. When I informed the from desk over the phone, we were offered to be moved rooms. Upon arriving the hotel as I had to leave the job site, I was just given a key to the new room, I was not offered a refund for the room or meds coverage. The 2 reps at the desk just advised that they did not know about a protocol for bed bugs, but advised that they couldn't do anything either way as the manager wouldn't be there until the next morning. I left the premises to try to go back to the job site, but the unconformortness did not allow me to wok for the rest of the day. When returning to the hotel, the clerk was apologetic and offered to put my clothes on the dryer for 10 mns in order to kill the bugs. I had already throw out some clothes that were left on the bed during the morning. The next morning I picked up my clothes, that unfortunately shrunk and we spoke to the manager, she was very apologetic and advised that only 1 night could be refunded instead of 2, as we were moved rooms and the issue was fixed. Unfortunately the issue did not end there, I had to fly back home with swollen arms and red bumps all over. For the next 2 days I was not able to work as the bumps were very irritated from the 100 degree weather in Richland and I had to miss 2 days of work. The bumps were very red and I was not able to wear short or long sleeve shirts for 5 days. I have not received a call back from either the franchise owner or General manager to see how they could help, they believe that refunding the 1 night fixed the problem. I had to throw away most of my clothes and suitcase as I did not feel comfortable to bring it home to my family. Holiday Inn express and suites did not protect me or did care to fully resolve the situation. Do not stay at this place for yours and your family safety
