  • Sub Hazard

    They don't respond to maintenance tickets. Have had a partially clogged sink/broken garbage disposal for 5 months now, and the empty apartment next door has smoke detectors with low batteries that are constantly beeping. The heaters installed in the apartments are woefully inefficient, and failed to heat anyone's apartments during the winter. My heating bill was 3x what it normally was while still being cold, and I had to buy a bunch of stuff to take care of the drafts. They did provide a space heater to compensate, which I used very sparingly so as to not make my heating bill even worse. Submitted several tickets without a response, the previous ones were just closed without anyone doing anything. The neighborhood is quite nice though. Just wish they would pick up the slack with their obligations as a landlord. This review constitutes an escalation of my problems before escalating to the Tenants Union of Washington State/Attorney General if these issues are not addressed.

    The heaters are not designed to function when the temperature hits below 20. Apartments are required to provide heating at least upto 68 F (state law) but they fail to do so. They also promised us to cover our electricity bill because of the high usage from the sub par heaters but a few days later they emailed us back saying that theyre not responsible for it. If youre sensitive to cold or have a condition that requires you to keep yourself warm all the times please do not consider this apartment. On the bright side, Im happy with everything else the apartment has to offer but this HVAC issue has ruined my experience here. The maintenance crew is amazing but theres little they can do without the support of management. Hope my comment helps.

    If I could give Zero stars, I would. Shoddy construction at best. These apartments are not "luxury", they are just newer. Very little to no insulation throughout; not energy efficient at all. It's below zero currently, I have my heat set on 71 and it's just 61 in the apartment. My daughter can't sleep in her bedroom because it's too cold. Floor is uneven throughout the main living space. Main entrance door is a disaster even tho we had maintenance come and "fix" it. We can see light coming from under the door (when closed) AND there is a significant draft and flow of cold air. We received an email advising us to purchase space heaters, use towels to cover the gaps under the doors, cover the windows with blinds or blankets, use an at home window insulation kit!! This is luxury living?!?! Having to spend more than the already over-the-top rent to make up for the substandard construction and seemingly non-existenet insulation. We lived in Alaska with regular temps -40 F and never had an issue keeping the thermostat above 60. Molding and finishing moldings are coming off, or are not attached by anything other than tension. Dryer is venting inside the apartment (nice to have on these cold days tho). We have had maintenance, the project manager and complex manager involved in our apartment on more than one occasion and it still has all of these issues. We have been made to feel as though our concerns make us the problem. The pool this past summer was disgusting; food at the bottom; not cleaned regularly. Tennants do not pick up after their dogs; dog park is a horror with all the feces inside the fenced area. Advise to look elsewhere to rent. Not worth the price tag or hassle you may get from "management".
