Master Choi does a great job with the kids. He is funny and excited to teach. He requires discipline and patience. He also understands that they are there to have fun too. We are excited to have our son in class!

Tri-Cities Black Belt Academy Full Review The dojo feels like something straight out of a movie. The classic old dojo where the student goes to learn from the master. The facility is fairly large with an open front area, mirrors for practicing techniques, and signs that display the values of the gym. There are also benches both inside and outside for bystanders to sit and comfortably watch. The back area is large and has two changing rooms. The equipment includes many punching bags (both light and heavy), a speed bag, weights, and foam weapons for practice of kali escrima. Master Mendoza is the best! He is extremely knowledgeable and very considerate with his teaching. He is bi-lingual and can instruct to those who have have a hard time understanding English. He always takes the extra effort to answer his student's questions. He is keenly aware of the needs and desires of each of his students and encourages personal growth. Above all he has a true passion for the traditions of true Tae Kwon Do and you can see that in the way he gives and receives respect from his students. All in all you can't find a better instructor of Tae Kwon Do and Hapkido. I initially signed up for the 6-week challenge to get a feel for everything. Within that 6 weeks I lost 12 pounds and gained strength, flexibility, and confidence. I was able to learn the forms in a way that not only followed tradition but also in a way that I could practically defend myself. I was able to spar with the other student in the class and make some real friendships. The community is awesome. Within the 6 weeks I was able to get my yellow belt with confidence that I can get my green and compete in some tournaments as well. I have since signed up for the yearly classes. One of the biggest draws for me to this class is all of the availablity to come to class. I have a busy schedule and Master Mendoza is the only school in the area that offers a class at 5:30 in the morning. He also offers a lunch class and other classes in the afternoons. The Black Belt Academy is located in Eastern Pasco close to the court house. There is room for parking on the street. Overall If you are considering getting into martial arts this is a great place to get started. You won't regret it.
