Leaving a five star review after my experience with Joanna Nguyen (and Dylan!). She was kind, informative, and compassionate. This is clearly a team dedicated to finding solutions and keeping their patients informed along the way. I felt heard and respected. Highly recommend MID.

My first experience with MID & it was good (reason for star deduction at the end). Scheduling was easy and I was able to get an appointment within a week because of a cancellation. Dr. Hughes personally greeted me and gave me a hug so that was welcoming. She got right down to business and was so helpful, considerate & knowledgeable of treatments that I felt heard for the first time in a long time when it comes to my skin issues. I am looking forward to working with her going forward and seeing the results of her treatment.
My only complaint is with the parking - or lack thereof. All of the spots within the building are reserved for other offices in the building so you can only park on the street which is up a hill and limited. There should be at least a few spots for MID.

Do NOT see Dr Hughes for Botox or other cosmetic dermatology !!!! You will waste your money.
I have spent $700 and multiple appointments to have Botox in my forehead as a 26 year old woman and I have achieved almost no results despite guarantees that this time it would work and achieve a smooth sheet effect.
Ive had Botox twice before and achieved perfect results with half as many units as Dr Hughes used.
Ive now seen another dermatologist who specializes in injectables and she told me based on current results and my before photos that the Botox was likely not injected properly and this was a physician error.
Staff have been unwilling to help find a solutionthe only solution they suggest is that I come back and spend hundreds of more dollars on additional Botox units and give Dr Hughes more and more chances. I gave her a second chance and was charged more money, for zero results. After her initial injections achieved extremely limited AND UNEVEN results I went back to the office as they requested the opportunity to correct the situation. At that appointment for Botox correction they didnt take any photos and then injected more units into my face. At this second appointment Dr Hughes told me that I am old and so I need many extra units due to my age (I had just turned 26 a few weeks prior) and that with these additional units I would get a smooth sheet effect for sure. These additional units did NOTHING other than hurt my wallet. Ive been left with almost entirely full range of motion in my forehead, with only a small decrease on one side, creating an uneven and unsatisfying result.
Ive emailed the office several times asking them what we can do to make this right, and the only solution they have is that I come in for a free evaluation and then pay more money to their clinic for any steps taken past Dr Hughes looking at my face.
Ive been a client at MI Dermatology for almost a decade. Ive had countless issues with scheduling, ineffective treatments, rushed visits etc. The only thing that MI derm did well for me was prescribe Accutane and treat my acne. It was a mistake going to Dr Hughes for Botox. One I will never make again and one I hope you wont make either. Go to someone who specializes in cosmetic dermatology and who doesnt have multiple reviews stating their incompetence at basic injections. There are people in the area who do Botox well, and who correct their mistakes free of charge, with grace and accountability, because they value their clients experience. Dr Hughes is not one of them.
Ive emailed the office multiple times trying to correct this and make it right. Its been 6 days with no reply since my latest email. Ive called twice asking if they plan to respond and was assured by the end of day Id have a response.no such response or solution has come. It would seem making by promises they cant keep and being unprofessional is standard practice at Mercer Island Dermatology.
This has been the most unprofessional, expensive, and disappointing experience I have ever had in dermatology, or any cosmetic industry in my life.
I urge you to NOT see Dr Hughes. Save your money, your time, and your face.
