Lake Wilderness Clinic - Primary Care - Valley Medical Center

This place is a joke. I came in for an appoinment then found out it was the wrong doctor. He then scheduled me w my doctor and said I wouldn't be charged for the visit, which I was charged anyway. I came back 2 weeks later then they said I had no appoinment that day. That same front desk lady that screwed up my appoinment twice had the guts to ask me to come back again in 2 weeks for the new appoinment. No apology from anyone that wasted my time and money. Very poor and unprofessional front desk, especially that lady sitting 2nd from the right. Goodbye dr.Sundin!

This clinic is really nice. Easy parking, clean and has that "new clinic" feel. The front desk staff are wonderful and after you get checked in, they send you to an exam room not a waiting room. Love that! The nurse that took vitals was very welcoming and friendly! Man, if only I'd come in to hang out with the front desk and nursing staff, this would have been a rad visit! My primary physician of almost 20 years retired from the Fairwood clinic. The new doctor and his team that took over do not communicate very well. Maybe I've been spoiled by my previous physicians team sending me directions when their office needs paperwork filled out. Or by them returning MyChart messages within a week. The new team didn't, so I chose to find a new PCP. I found the Lake Wilderness clinic closer to home and found this physician accepting new patients. Bryan Sundin sure made a lasting first impression on me. He came into the exam room, told me his name, then proceeded to tell me how he would NEVER prescribe my medication without the completed paperwork. I told him "okay", assuming that was something very important he wanted to point out. Then he began to harass me about how I hadn't seen my previous doctor soon enough. Huh? I couldn't have been more confused, or frankly offended at this point. He didn't ask me a single question. He didn't ask me what I came in for. He didn't ask ANYTHING about me or what I needed as a patient. Zero. Maybe 5 minutes in I told him it was evident we weren't a good match as patient/physician, put my coat on and left. Displaying even a sliver of professionalism would have been neat. Displaying a sliver of compassion would have been outside this persons capacity, clearly. Seems odd this person chose this line of work. The experience has soured me on UW Medicine as a whole. I've been a patient of UWM for a while and this was unacceptable.

New clinic, very quick and easy check-in, receptionist were very nice. Instead of being directed to a waiting area I was directed to a room number, when I entered the room a medical assistant was waiting. My name and DOB were confirmed and she finished the medical check-in part. Once she was done, she exited the room through a door in the back of the room, within a minute the provider entered. This feels much more private, not seeing other patients or staff outside the room. The worst part was waiting 7 months for a new patient appointment, now established I'll be able to get in much quicker. Did have an issue with the pharmacy and meds that were ordered. Called the clinic and the receptionist was very nice and professional, took my info and forwarded it to the provider and her team. After having one provider for 35+ years, I think I'll be happy at this clinic.
