They accused me of being an addict even though I'm not and then tried to force me into substance abuse classes. They forced me to see one of their therapists and the therapist made many inappropriate remarks about my body, how skinny I was, she also played on her phone during the appointment. When I spoke to the director, Tera about all of this, she acted like I was crazy. Threatened me, told me that she doesn't tolerate this kind of behavior from addicts. All I did was tell her what happened. She berated me to the point I couldn't stop crying. Then she told me to sign up with CORE Health and get on psych meds. Pretty sure some sketchy business goes on between them. Don't go here, it's dirty and not safe. I'm not happy to see that they are opening a youth center. This place needs to be shut down and replaced with something that actually helps people. Same with CORE.

Absolutely horrible, accused me of being an addict, I'm 19 and had nothing, they promised to help find a home and instead they tried putting me into treatment. And didn't allow me to get a job, even if I did they take 80% and the people are absolutely horrible and served molding food and expired food. Don't come here

These guys need your help. If it's winter?? You must think of the walking poor. From what I have learned, they seldom turn people away. Check your pantry, your linen closet? Think if you had to camp out in this weather? Food? Think if you had to skip a meal? Many have skipped a day or more... Do you really need a second candy coffee? I don't get them anymore. But that 5.00 a week, gives me the power to buy some staples. I urge you to dig deep. I know we are all hesitant to give money. But to donate a canned ham? And a few boxes of mac-n-cheese would mean a warm belly for some mothers that have children behind them. Just think if they were yours?

Business Response on Google Mar 20th, 2024
Hello Leeann, We apologize for you feeling forced in any way. That is never our intention or purpose. As a clean and sober homeless shelter we stand by our mission on those who stay at the shelter hold to the guidelines we have in place. We know that it's not for everyone and that is okay. CORE Health is the sister agency to Community House and began due to the lack of resources needed at the shelter for Mental Health and Substance Use Treatment. As a homeless shelter we do our best to make the facility comfortable and homelike to all who stay while they work to become self -sufficient. We do wish you the best, and hope you find what you are looking for.
