John and Stephanie are really terrific. The listen carefully to what the concept and vision are, and then match that up with expertly drawn builder grade plans. They also help coordinate the engineering calculations. As a bonus, their fees are more than reasonable, and in fact less than the majority of the architects we interviewed for our residential design.

John helped us with the interior redesign of a 1925 Craftsman keeping the charm, but making the interior layout more livable. He even was able to design/engineer an elevator (given we have 3 floors) and fit it in so it didn't look like an elevator. Once his design and engineering work was done, we got our permits in only a few weeks due to his thoroughness in his work. It was an absolute pleasure to work with him!

Let me begin by saying if I could give them 6 stars I would. They were brilliant in executing our dream into functional and affordable plans that we will use to build in Pierce County. When we first hired them, we were going for a safe and pretty boring design. But after some thought we changed directions and John and Stephanie pivoted quickly. They met us on our land to help envision our dream. After the site visit Stephanie blew us away with a compact design that was both creative and practical. The home design has exceeded our expectations. Not only did they design our home beautifully, they also were responsive and answered all our questions thoroughly. Even after receiving final plans, they have kindly replied to our inquiries and given wonderful guidance. We are so excited to begin the next phase of the project. Please dont hesitate to hire New World Design. You will not be disappointed.

John designed a modern luxury custom home + detached ADU in Ruston Tacoma for me. Although it was a very challenging project due to the steep slopes and wet land, John navigated through the city codes and helped me get the permit. He takes ownership in his projects and follows through with it. I wouldn't have been able to get the construction permit without his help. 10 stars for John!!!

John and Stephanie are extremely knowledgeable and provide excellent customer service. They completed my project on time and on budget. Because of their thorough work, the city accepted my permit application with no problems. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to have building plans drawn up.
