I hired D. Hughes Roofing to replace the roof on our 1970's home.  I had seen their truck in my neighborhood replacing other roofs and thought I'd give them a try.  I was able to get 3 estimates and theirs was right in line with the others and reasonable, so I decided to go with them.  The roof installation went well and I very much appreciate their hard working crew.We've had little rain this fall, so it was a number of weeks after the roof completion that we had our first heavy rainfall.  Then I noticed that one of the gutters wasn't correct and their was a very heavy stream of water falling from the roof.  Later I noticed that there was another issue with another gutter.  Unfortunately, my emails and phone calls to the company went completely unanswered.  It looks like I'll have to hire another gutter company to come and clean up the problems.  I was prepared to give them a 5-star rating, but reduced it for ghosting me on what is a real issue with the gutters.

We just had our roof replaced on our 19 year old home and we're very happy.  Many of our neighbors had their roofs done by D.Hughes Roofing, were very happy so they were our first call.  What impressed us the most was Steve Yates' great customer service and willingness to help us out as we had a tight deadline to prepare our house to go on the market. Not only did Steve fit us in his busy schedule this summer on such short notice but he stayed in touch before, during and after the job was completed to ensure we were happy.  The cost from D.Hughes to put a new roof on our home was the best of the estimates and the final cost came in right on budget.  The team who did our roof were very good and very clean which made it easy for us to move on to landscaping and other outdoor needs.

Just had our roof replaced on a 3000sf house by D.Hughes, and am very pleased.  The original roof was poorly installed and after only 16 years (and 3 leaks) we decided to replace it.  Received four bids and chose D. Hughes because of past experience (they fixed one of the leaks), their price, and Steve Yates' (D.Hughes estimator) approach to providing and explaining the roofing options.When it came time for the install the crew was very courteous, pleasant and professional and did the install like this was their own home.  I was expecting a professional job, and they exceeded my expectations by doing a great job plus including small details that demonstrated pride in their work. I've had a lot of water problems in homes I've owned, so I watched this closely and was very happy with the result. This is the first Yelp review I've written and happily recommend D. Hughes if you need a new roof.

Just had my roof replaced by D Hughes and we are really happy. Was referred to Dick by a friend who also had work done.  Very reasonable and competitive prices quoted for excellent, high end products and materials.  Licensed, bonded, insured and "A" rating on BBB.  The crews were friendly and kept my property clean and orderly during and after the job.  Impressive attention to detail. Really great looking roof and my neighbors have commented on how nice it looks. We did have to wait several months due to their busy work schedule and a rough winter. But, Steve offered interim repairs to the old roof if we needed it during the wait.  They are quite busy, so book your job early and be patient; it's worth the wait. Thanks D Hughes.

So I'll start this off by saying, I was just given an estimate from Steve Yates, Senior Estimator with D.Hughes Roofing. We're still collecting bids and haven't hired anyone yet. But, OMG OMG OMG!!  For anyone who despises contractor sales people like I do, these are the people for you! Steve talked, behaved, and presented his proposal/estimate like he was talking to a colleague rather than like he was trying to make a sale. He was upfront and honest about how far they're booked out and the reasons for that---they have a relatively small number of roofing crews, how long the bid/proposal was good for, best ways to accept the bid. He also did the MOST through job with measurement and cost estimation I've seen so far. He was also interested in educating us on what is up there now; and why it should be replaced. He went through each layer they would put on and what its role is, and what we could do to protect our new roof regardless of what company we hire. I've talked to 15 or so different contractors from various disciplines (roofing, electrical, plumbing, etc..) in the last 10 days including Steve and all but 2 of them have given me presentations/bids that feel more like a choose your own adventure book than a recommended course of action that might include a couple of optional upgrades or additions. During those other presentations I was thinking, If I knew what I was doing myself, I wouldn't need you!. The estimate also came in significantly below the 2 estimates I have from other roofing companies. As an example: Green Built Roofing didn't measure or examine my roof before giving me an estimate that came in at almost double D. Hughes is asking. I'll try to remember to update this if with our decision and how our roof looks complete with pictures if allowed. It'll probably be March or April before they're out here.
