When movie theaters are struggling to survive, Galaxy Theater, themselves, furnished the last nail to their own coffin . It is one thing to pay $20.00 per ticket, I understand that prices have to go up somewhere, but to gouge the customers at the concession stand is totally outrageous and unethical to boot. For 2 soft drinks and a large popcorn, it cost me $29.50. Throw in the price of 2 tickets, and I spent $70.00 to see King Kong and Godzilla kick some butt. My date and I saw the 3-D version, which was pretty cool . Seating was great and comfortable, and they even had a little table big enough to hold the 1 litter of soda that cost me $10.00 each and the large popcorn, also $10.00. But what really fried my eggs was the fact that when we arrived at the theater, no one was around. No one was there to greet us, sell us a ticket, nothing. Even the concession stand was vacant. I had to yell to see if anyone was working there. When I did, a minute or so later, a guy comes up behind the concession stand and stared at me. I ask him, "Is there anyone working the ticket booth?" He replies, "She is." And points to a woman walking to the ticket area behind my back. My date follows her to buy the tickets and I order my drinks and popcorn. The guy tells me that I have to buy a ticket first. I turn and point to my date and I tell the guy, "I am!" Again, he just stares at me and slowly gets my order. What a place. I could have just walked in and saw a movie without paying because these people half expect you to go to a ticket machine and buy a ticket. Whereby you can pretend to buy your ticket and you just walk in. But because I'm honest and I need the 3-D glasses, I spent $70.00 at the movies. This is a good reason to wait until the movie comes out in DVD. This way, I can sit in the comfort of my own home, eating my own popcorn and drinking my own drinks and I can watch the movie over and over again and it only cost me $20.00 bucks. Way to go Galaxy Theater. Putting it real for the public when money is tight for everyone. Lack of service, high prices, and just plain stupidity. See you on the late late show of " Remember when you use to go to the movies and drive-in Theater..."
