The Oltman website states, When you're in need of Insurance in the Pacific Northwest, you can rely on Oltman Insurance! Once upon a time that statement was true, but no longer. We were very long time clients of Oltmans, and had a satisfactory relationship until we were billed by the insurance carrier for a car we no longer had. The bill was due and we paid it, thinking it would be a simple matter to get a refund, but despite trying, over several phone calls, and in person, to get the staff to sort it out and get us our refund, they were incapable of accomplishing what was a very simple thing. After those several attempts, one of the staff thought she was being criticized for incompetence, and complained to the manager, Darin De Young, who called in attack mode, and spoke to us as though we were extremely bad children who needed to be severely punished. He was aggressive and guilty of the very thing he accused us of: disrespect. Our 20+ year relationship counted for nothing as he dismissed us as clients in the most patronizing, offensive and hostile way. Some manager! We were suddenly forced, on very short notice, to find another agent. Meanwhile, the insurance carrier has still not refunded our money. I wrote to the president, Ann Medina, informing her of the situation and asking if thats the way she would want to be treated as a customer. I asked her to reply, but she has not bothered. It appears as though nobody is actually minding the store.

I ended up not buying insurance with them, but am writing this review because of how they went above and beyond helping me! I worked with Heidi and she helped me find the best insurance rate. The rates she was able to get for me, did not beat the ones I was currently receiving from another company. She gave me advice to get my rates from my current place even lower even though it would not benefit her since I would not be using her services at all. She didn't have to do that and she went above and beyond for me. When I need new insurance I will check here first in the future!
