Dr. Schur was wonderful. His personal touch on placing the brackets in my children really boosted my confidence in his commitment to my kids orthodontic outcome!! I would highly recommend him and his great staff if you or your kids need braces or Invisalign!!!

TL;DR: Dr. Schur is an amazing orthodontist and my experience with him and everyone at the clinic has been incredibly positive. I recommend him to anyone who is looking for an orthodontist in the Redmond/Bellevue/Seattle area including for both braces and invisalign. Longer Version: I met Dr. Schur for the first time in October, 2020. I was really confused at that time if I wanted to do braces as a 25 year old. I was also considering whether I should get jaw surgery as part of my treatment because my jaws were pretty misaligned. I had previously seen another orthodontist in 2019 who was too eager to push me to the surgery route and I decided to not go through with orthodontics or surgery at that point. When I spoke to Dr. Schur, what I loved about him immediately was that he was willing to work with my goals in mind and he was empathetic but at the same time very practical and realistic. He pointed out to me that there was no reason for me to decide on whether I wanted to do go through with jaw surgery at that point and that he could make my teeth look a lot better both with and without surgery. That really helped calm me down. He also added that the first 6-8 months of orthodontic treatment can be done without knowing whether we do the jaw surgery and we can then figure out what I wanted to do. He also asked me to consult with Dr. Bobek who is the jaw surgeon he recommends which was a fantastic recommendation. Over the next 8 months, I figured out I did want to go through with the jaw surgery and eventually I got jaw surgery in April 2022, around 16 months after starting orthodontic treatment in December 2020. The surgery went really really and today, November 7, 2022, I got out of braces. I love how my teeth look and how my bite feels and I have 0 issues from my jaw surgery. Dr. Schur is really a genius at what he does and there are very few people I know who are as good at what they do. He is always thoughtful whenever I ask him any question ( which I usually tend to ask a lot of ) and never commits to anything unrealistic or impossible. He constantly reassured me through the journey even at times where I got a little anxious at how long it was taking or how my teeth still weren't looking perfect yet. If there is one thing I learnt through this process, it is that Dr. Schur always knows exactly what he is doing. He has also been really good at communicating with my jaw surgeon and my dentist. He is always on time and the visits in clinic are a breeze. His assistants and doctors in his clinic are super nice and are themselves very very good at what they do. The front desk has always been super helpful in setting up appointments and always super responsive over calls and have been able to get me in short notice multiple times when needed. My case was a complicated one with jaw surgery and a primary canine extraction as part of the entire process along with orthodontics and Dr. Schur really made sure everything went perfect well over the course of 23 months.
