Glen Park at West Campus Apartments

Went to this property because we saw photos online of their units. When we got there, we were shown a unit that was upgraded and had a "sunroom." It was my favorite place out of all the ones we had seen after, so we went back. They told us what units they had available, and then told us the cabinets, "wood" vinyl flooring, countertops etc were not going to be the same as the model, that they didn't have any renovated units available and they didn't have that floor plan either. They actually trained staff to call old cabinets from the 80s "European" cabinets . This felt like a bait and switch. I understand apartment complexes might not have certain things available when you go, but it was weird to be shown one thing and like it, but then be presented with another. The second time we went in the office, a resident coincidentally came up to the staff we were talking to and told them her car had been broken into. The staff basically blew her off, and I got the impression this isn't the first time that happened. When we asked the staff how often that happens, she said something along the lines of "I'm not allowed to discuss that. You can look at crime statistics online," which was really, really off-putting. Every other place we had talked to had given us an answer to that question, even if it wasn't favorable. My boyfriend and I decided to take a look at the building that was coming available and we went there alone without a staff member. We just walked behind the building to see ehat our view would be from our "sun room." We unintentionally found buckets thrown in the grass, a rolled carpet, a shoe, and some other random junk that had been laying there a while. Between all of these things, we just didn't feel comfortable living there. We didn't think staff would be helpful if we had an issue, we weren't getting anything we liked in the model we saw, we didn't see any people going for a walk or walking their dog etc like in other places, and we didn't like the way the staff talked to a current resident in front of us, and also the answer we got when we asked a question about crime. I can't say they might not be under staffed since we saw all that junk behind the building. Anyway, we went with a place that was honest with us (they told us about the area openly), that seemed more family-friendly (kids walking with their parents on the property, people had dogs, there were ducks etc), and that had good maintenance. We even asked a resident if they liked it there, and they spoke highly of it, which is not what that lady whose car got broken into would have said if we had asked her. Overall, I wouldn't recommend the place.

The Maintenance is the worst place Ive ever Sean, My fridge is not working about a month now n am still not getting any help! Things keeps breaking out I cant wait for my lease to expire n move out. On Friday the 4/5/2024 my card window got broken in my Carport.

Maintenance was fast and helpful. They repaired my stairwell lights.

I lived here previously in 2007 under different management for one year. Coming back to live in this complex, there has been many improvements by the new management Prime Group. KC was the leasing office professional that helped us get paperwork submitted and took the time to answer all our questions. We could not see our unit until the day of move in which made us a little on edge, but we trusted KC with the layout and how the walls may be from the pictures the office had. On move in day, at the end of February 2024, we would have given the complex a three star review but we have since been able to get timely service on our maintenance requests and Johnny is the one that has been prompt and in communication with us to fix some of the issues with our unit that were broken or not functioning properly. There was one shooting recently in the past week, but there are kids that roam frequently throughout parts of the complex and parents that walk with little ones or dogs throughout most of the complex regularly. Some cons: We are on the backside of the complex away from the leasing office and compactor, there is limited open parking even during the week which makes it hard to park without a carport pass and we have had issues with smoking of neighbors and people not cleaning up after their dog. Overall: We are pretty happy here and have no issues with theft or property crime despite the crime reports stating high crime in the area. We also feel comfortable with the children being in the area.
