        I was referred to One Door Realty for Property Management. Angela was straightforward, considerate, responsive and just a kind and positive person. Half the battle is finding someone you can work with successfully and Im thankful that we have One Door as our Management company.

        Somehow they find ways to charge for everything. Laundry is $6. They charge for wifi that doesnt work. They charge to pay rent online. They will not turn ac on until may. My apartment is 77 degrees. When I asked to have them take a look at the heating system that pumps hot air when the fan is off or provide a portable ac unit, I was told I would be charged if nothing is wrong with the heating or charged monthly for the ac unit. You are better off living in current midtown.

        They won't let you know when your house is "getting fixed" until it is mid construction then they send the text! They don't tell you when they are coming over!

        Possibly the rudest realty organization we have ever dealt with. The team gave us a list of utilities needed for the house but failed to give the contact details for heating services and gas supply. When we contacted the office, we were given a derogatory lecture with name calling included by the representative, Angela Bailey,. Please DO NOT work with this realty company! They are not a professional organization, and they have decided it is acceptable to treat young adults with zero respect when they are juggling academics and other challenges. I also am concerned that they tend to respond to negative reviews with their own interpretations of events. If they truly want to resolve a situation, bring in an independent, third party reviewer. Separately, the pet policy is quite draconian and I would encourage all renters to closely review the policy before signing any leases! I strongly encourage you to stay away from this company.

      Amelia, per our many conversations with you and your father, we would like to reiterate that state law dictates when we turn the heat off and on in your residence. We have explained how the system works to ensure you don't have the fan turned on, which will blow hot hair. To further placate you, we agreed to send maintenance to ensure you have the fan off. Still, it is inappropriate for our client (the building owner) to pay for a maintenance visit if the issue is a user error, not anything with the system. We were transparent about this with you. If you want to avoid paying for the rental and installation of a portable AC unit and require it to be comfortable, you can find information about purchasing your own in the Rules and Regulations or call our office for details. If the laundromat fees are too high, we would be happy to provide you with the names and addresses of nearby laundromats. Do you need help with your wi-fi? We have yet to receive a service request from you about this, but if you reach out to the office, we would be happy to help you troubleshoot. The provider changed several months ago. Do you still need to read the updated information distributed to all residents? Please let our office know at your earliest convenience if you have decided to purchase or rent an AC or are enjoying the heat now that it is 48 degrees outside. The number is 757-260-4600.

      Eric, this is Angela Bailey, owner of One Door Realty, taking the time to respond to your review personally. After Nick received your call today and relayed the information to me, we pulled all the recorded calls to review them. I'd be happy to email them if you want to listen to my conversation with your daughter yesterday when she called to discuss not having heat in her rental home. You will find that at no point did I lecture or name-call. I walked her through what I suspected was the problem, gave her the name of the gas company, asked her to call me back to confirm if lack of gas service was causing the issue, and even went so far as to discuss propane to make sure she and her roommate understand they need to have the propane tank filled through Suburban if they haven't since the lease started in June. My maintenance director stopped by about 10 minutes later to ensure she was being taken care of and to assess if we needed to deliver space heaters to keep them comfortable until they could get the gas service turned on. Unfortunately, you perceive the actions my team and I took on your daughter's behalf as rude. Feel free to call me at 757-260-4600 to discuss this further, and let me know if you would like me to forward the recorded calls to you. By the way, we STRONGLY encourage all renters to review the pet policy closely. We welcome pets as long as they are registered through the appropriate channels; our Rules and Regulations and lease clearly state the policies.
