Overall very beautiful especially the lobby.... thought the rooms would be a little more spacious especially for the prices being charged

What a disappointing and costly experience. We had eagerly planned a much-needed weekend getaway to VA Beach, only to be met with a series of frustrating mishaps upon arrival. Despite our request for a lower floor due to our dog, the hotel failed to honor it, (still paid the $100 pet fee.) Upon reaching our assigned room on the 14th floor, we encountered the first of many issues when our key failed to work. After returning to the lobby for a re-keying, we were shocked to find another couple already settled into what was supposed to be our room. It became apparent that the hotel had neglected to verify identification during the room assignment process, leading to an embarrassing and uncomfortable situation for all parties involved. After finally securing a new room, we were dismayed to find that it did not match the type we had reserveda king instead of the two queens provided. This oversight only compounded our frustration, making our stay a regrettable mistake. Adding insult to injury, despite being elite members, our promised late checkout was marred by yet another inconvenience: our key had expired, leaving us locked out of our room after a morning of sightseeing. What's more, attempting to leave a review on the Westin website - (Identified on the bill) proved futile, as the review function appeared to be disabled, redirecting us to a generic Marriott FAQ page. It seems that the hotel's control over the review process stifles genuine feedback from guests. Our experience at this hotel was nothing short of disappointing and aggravating. We urge others to exercise caution when considering a stay here, as the experience fell short of expectations. Walkability: Close to good shopping and dining
