Don't pay in full until the first heavy rain after your project is completed. We were left with water pooling on our sidewalk. This never happened before our basement was filled in and Flood Mitigation Hampton Roads, who claims they act as the lead, facilitator and project manager ignored numerous emails from me asking for help. They then told me it was my problem and to contact the contractors used on the project myself. It was also relayed to me that the goal was to reduce flood premiums and prevent problems at resale. I even have an email where they quote this pooling water to be an 'unintended consequence. I replied that was true but that the goal was also not to incur a problem caused by the project that I am then solely responsible for though the project caused it.
