Heartland took immediate compassionate care of our 93 year old mom during the last 3 months of her life 2020. We had caregivers as well. During Covid this arrangement allowed us to be in constant contact with her vs skilled nursing facility care.

I would never recommend this hospice service. The triage department cannot appropriately handle & direct the calls when they come in. On multiple occasions, the nurses were not contacted, despite dispatchers ensuring they would send them out ASAP. Upon further questioning, they were unaware of which nurses were assigned to each patient which was extremely frustrating when my family called asking for "the nurse (who we called by name) that was in our home an hour ago". We were frequently informed that they did not have access to records indicating who was scheduled to our home. On one occasion, we were even transferred to another line that was in actuality just another patient's home. You can only imagine the confusion this caused for both parties. On at least two occasions, messages were left voicing our displeasure and they were never returned! There are some very good nurses, but this agency is ran extremely inefficiently, which is hard on the families who are already going through a stressful time. If I had a do-over, I would MOST DEFINITELY not use Heartland Hospice.

My mother in law came home from the hospital with this company. They were late getting the bed delivered 1nurse came over later that night and then the next day after that No one came . The night she passed a wonderful nurse came and helped as much as she could . My problem was that we were told we would have support from them and never did . The social worker never came not one time and a nurse had gotten lost on the way and decided just to go home instead of me giving her directions. I would absolutely not recommend this company for anything they are poorly ran and extremely in compassionate.
