They were very helpful even when I wasnt nice because of my depression and anxiety. Working where I was and doing things have been hard because of it. It messed me up bad at work because of the difficult situation I was in. I am trying to keep my mind off of it and think positive. I appreciate all of your help. I am truly sorry for the way I treated you all. You didnt deserve it because you were trying to keep me safe and help me when I needed it the most.

The overall message and importance of what CSU symbolizes not only is beneficial to making Roanoke a better place but gives people the opportunity to find a new way of life without sending them to jail or institutions so many might not ever get a chance to see. I was fortunate enough to make the wise decision of going there after I thought I would never be able to enjoy my life again or bounce back from the bottom I had hit. Once I got to CSU I stayed as long as they allow (2 weeks) and in that time met staff and counselors there Ill never forget that not only helped me find hope again but showed me a way out and set me up to progress when I left. Once I left, with their help, I got into an Oxford house and started attending meetings regularly. I eventually became the president of the house and after 6 months still clean from when I left CSU was able to move out and get my own apartment. I have now been clean and serene for 443 days(1 year, 2 months and 17 days) today, still attend meetings and am truly grateful for the life Im still blessed to have. I wouldnt have been able to do it if it wasnt for reaching out to this establishment. Im doing better now than I ever have in my life thanks to them and wanted to share this message of hope that no matter what or how hard things seem to get there is always a way to make it through the struggles we are faced with without resorting to using any drug (even alcohol) and enjoy the life we are blessed with every day.
