After waiting for months to get an appointment and constantly getting the runaround, they informed me they would not see me because I have had this problem for a while and they don't see how they can help. Obviously, I have been referred to see them because the problem isn't going away! Complete idiots.

Emily steele, or course they won't take you seriously if you think herbs and home remedies are better then functional medicine. You were probably a headache from the sound of it because you know more then the doctor does. I love vcu and have never had an issue in 30 years.

Was referred to this office a month ago. Been trying to get an appointment since then for debilitating Rheumatoid Arthritis. Feels like Im getting a run around. Just found out that my referral was denied by the pcp? Uh, what? I received their call while at my pcp! The pcp manager told me they received no calls from them for records. This place is just garbage, go elsewhere. If theyre lying to patients before they get in the door cant imagine what theyre doing when youre in the office.

Took me 4 months to get in to see Dr. Rabia Gill. This is the WORST provider I've ever seen. I will never return to her and have even considered never returning to VCU if they can offer care from someone like her. She entered the room with a chip on her shoulder. She was argumentative about any concern or question or "fact" I presented. She told me my symptoms were all in my head and any relief from my current medications were placebo effect. She didn't like that I take vitamin and herbal supplements and said if I'm interested in functional medicine she will not take care of me. I'm welcome to see VCU's functional doctors, but they aren't rheumatologists so what can they really do for me. I tried to encourage a positive dialogue between us, considering I did come to her for help, but because she was so focused on functional medicine she refused to provide me with any advice, suggestions, or treatment. She actually told me NOT to return to her. She said she is NOT going to take care of me. She will not build a good patient base with her attitude. She has such a narrow scope of knowledge that if you go outside the parameters of what her textbook tells her, she cannot provide care. Not all patients fit inside a cute little box and follow all suggested guidelines. She needs to put down her textbook and actually pay attention to the patient sitting in front of her. We are all different. After she expands her knowledge, she needs to be taught manners. She seems to have forgotten she went into medicine to care for people.
