Both the PT person and the nurse who came to my home were knowledgeable gentlemen. My difficulty was that I would expect any medical professional entering a home to either have shoes that could be removed at the door, or shoe covers which neither did. I supplied the shoe covers as we do not wear shoes in the house. Today when the nurse arrived his mask covered his mouth only. His nose was completely uncovered, and he constantly touched it with his fingers then put those fingers on me as well as other items. I found that to be unacceptable and not the way someone in the medical profession should present himself most especially with the new strains of Covid on the rise.

I have always used Sentara Home Healthcare. For some reason, this time, my surgeon set me up with Amedisys. The first day that the Physical Therapist came, he was 25 minutes late. He spent a few minutes taking vitals and then began to tell me that I had no restrictions at all. I had hip replacement surgery, done posterior ( not anterior or considered Jiffy Hip). I even showed him my long incision on the back of my hip. He told me the ONLY record he had was that it was anterior and somebody just pushed the wrong button by mistake. He called his supervisor & 2 different people in the office. Nobody had a clue. With the type of hip replacement I had there are restrictions and a completely different protocol. Needless to say I have absolutely NO confidence in this company and have gone back to Sentara. Do your homework before you let this company make mistakes that could cost you your entire surgery.
