I was pleased with the care my husband received while in the ER after a car accident but the cleanliness was very much lacking. The first restroom I went to use had feces & urine all over the toilet seat. The waiting area was dirty with old, stained chairs & the smell was awful. I would expect a hospital to be much more sanitary & I honestly felt like I could catch something just being there.

Nursing staff is great. Hindered by a lack of resources (at a for profit hospital??) "we have 100 patients and 50 rooms." Great, my wife has internal bleeding and isn't even having her pulse or blood pressure monitored. Hire more. Update your IT systems. Get more beds. You're a for profit system. The $10k you're billing my insurance should at least pay for my wife to have a $20 pulse oximeter on her finger for the duration of her visit. Update: you have her in the SAME ROOM you kicked her out of 10 minutes after I get off the phone? It'd be hilarious if it weren't so disappointing.

I keep calling the emergency room and these two women keep being rude if they dont want to work they should just quit their jobs, I have an emergency I dont have time for them to keep hanging up the call, they should get fired and get need people

Had to spend a good few hours at the ER today, 1/26/2024. Everyone I dealt with from check-in to nurses, doctors and all staff were very nice, helpful, friendly and seemed to genuinely care for my well being. No-one particularly likes spending time at the ER, but the staff at Norfolk General gave outstanding care and treated me fantastically well.

My boyfriend was in an accident the other day and broke his arm. When he left, the doctors did not provide him with any pain meds for his recovery! What kind of hospital doesn't prescribe pain medication to someone who just broke a bone in their body! That is not okay!! No wonder this hospital has a poor rating. I surely hope I never have to come here. They won't provide the best care they can. Instead,they will just allow their patients to leave in pain. And for them not to give him any information as to how long it will take for his body to fully heal. All those incompetent people did was put his arm in a cast and sent him on his little merry way! No instructions for when he got home or anything! That is terrible customer service and just overall inexcusable. You guys need to do better.
