We stopped in looking for what we hoped would be a new neighborhood favorite. I asked the owner to recommend some of his specialties (to go). When we started eating the pastrami sandwich, we realized that, in addition to the pastrami, there was some other kind of meat in the sandwich that wasnt mentioned (and that looked like pork). Who sneaks mystery meat into a pastrami sandwich?! The pastries were frankly terrible. The palmier was just a square piece of stale pastry with a pile of sugar on it. It was inedible. The baklava was equally terrible - two thick layers of filo dough with a single thick layer of nuts in the middle. The reason to buy baklava is because its so tedious to assemble all of the layers and soak in the syrup, but this had all of 3 layers. It was dry and tasteless. Each of these pastries was $6-8. We told him we were new to the area and asked for his recommendations and this was his best? The interior is toeing the line between cute hole in the wall and just straight up grimy. Nothing in the cases is labeled or has a price listed. We wont be back. Its a shame, since we live right down the street! Dietary restrictions: There was a second type of meat in the pastrami sandwich (in addition to the pastrami) and no ingredients listed anywhere.

this has got to be the MOST ABYSMAL bakery I've ever had the displeasure of patronizing. the other review that says it's a health code violation is 100% accurate. the pastries were god awful and he has the gall to charge more for them than la brioche down the street. to the owner, you wouldn't make it a DAY in a place like NYC but down here the bar must be LOW or you must be a front for something to still be in business. also if you have time to SIT AROUND then surely you have time to clean your nasty store. never coming here again and don't recommend anyone else does either. there's better bakeries and pastrami sandwiches to be had, I promise you.

So this French bakery has been around forever. I've driven past hundreds of times and often think, "I'm gonna stop in there one day." My father used to work close-by, and always said they had delicious lunch. So I finally stopped in. I ordered a medium pastrami. And a piece of bread pudding. The owner was very friendly, he gave me a sample of an orange donut, everything was fresh & very delicious. The bread pudding was a little on the pricey side, but you could tell it was made with love. I'm pretty sure they soak the raisins in rum.
